Casey grew up in Portland, Oregon and moved to Cache Valley to attend Utah State University. She graduated with a B.S. in Conservation and Restoration Ecology and honors from Xi Sigma Pi Forestry Honors Society. Her past experiences have included wilderness therapy, whitewater raft guiding, outdoor education, and field research. She has worked on projects such as telemetry tracking of moose in the Wasatch, forest stand and fuels assessment in Yosemite National Park, research of endangered fish species on the San Juan River, snowpack density surveys, and implementation of beaver dam analogues for restoration purposes. When she isn’t working, Casey can usually be found skiing, mountain biking, or floating rivers with her dog, Cedar.
